Columbia now available to U.S. Communities members

Columbia Parcar Corp. is a leading American manufacturer of small task-oriented electric vehicles. These vehicles are used as transportation solutions in the public, private and government sectors. Columbia today announced that it has been awarded a contract to distribute Utility, Transportation and Golf Vehicles to the participants of U.S. Communities Government Purchasing Alliance. Kansas City, Missouri served as the lead public agency and awarded Columbia the contract after carefully evaluating proposals from several other distributors.

"Columbia was selected through a competitive solicitation process based on its proposal, offering a compelling solution to lower an agency's environmental impact on its community and to show real savings on task-oriented vehicles," said Renee Medlin, Procurement Manager with the City of Kansas City, MO. "The City is excited to have the opportunity to work with U.S. Communities to award this national contract for this powerful offering."

This award represents Columbia's first term as a Utility, Transportation and Golf Vehicles provider through the U.S. Communities cooperative purchasing program. Under this new contract, Columbia will offer Utility Vehicles, People Movers, and Heavy-Duty Industrial vehicles to the more than 90,000 state, local government, K-12, higher education, special districts and non-profit agencies eligible to use the U.S. Communities Government Purchasing Alliance. Many of these vehicles can be driven on the public roads with speed limits up to 35mph.

"We are excited to establish our relationship with Kansas City and U.S. Communities," said Scott Breckley, Columbia's President. "We believe U.S. Communities customers will now have access to the best electric utility vehicle made in America, our all-new Summit Utilitruck. With our commitment to alternatively fueled vehicles, we can help U.S. Communities and its partnering agencies reduce their green house gas emissions, combat reliance on foreign-oil, and lower transportation costs."
