What makes an electric vehicle so powerful?

Why is an electric vehicle so powerful? Columbia cuts one of its electric golf carts apart to help explain what makes an electric vehicle so much more powerful than one powered by gas.

As our host explains in the video an electric vehicle derives its power from a simple efficient design. Energy is stored in the battery and powers the 48-volt electric motor which transfers that power through the differential directly to the rear wheels. Up to 75-percent of the energy makes it directly to the rear wheels, thats over three times the amount of energy that makes it to the wheels in a gas powered vehicle. With an electric vehicle you simply push the pedal and you go!
